Roland GO:MIXER Smartphone Mixer
Are you frustrated with the audio quality of videos on your smartphone? Do you want to record a quality demo of your band? Well your prayers have been answered! This amazing new prouduct will take your videos from bedroom quality to studio quality.
It's as simple as plug and record. You can connect a mic, an instrument (guitar/bass) and a line-level instrument (electronic drums, keyboard or a media player). The media player connection is a great idea if you're a soloist and have a karoke track that you can then record your instrument or vocal over the top and BAM! Instant YouTube sensation.
Roland have put together a great video showing how to do this with the GO:MIXER.

Smartphone Mixer/InterfaceBy: Lawrence Gratton on 5 November 2017If you are looking for an easy way to record external audio onto your smartphone, this is a great way to do it. It essentially works as a mixer, allowing you to directly plug your instruments into the phone and record. It's plug and play and works right out of the box - no need to download an app or mess around with settings. I've been using it to make short music videos, where my performance setup is completely DI and I can provide the mixer with a stereo line level input. I did a video outside and it did seem a little weird watching my video back without any of the background noise I was expecting, but the quality of sound was faultless. The GO will accept a guitar, a couple a of stereo inputs and mic (1/4 in jack) so it will be more than adequate for most users - I just gave mine a line level feed from my PA mixer and sounded great. Overall, it's a great piece of kit and suits my purpose very well. I can't help thinking that a plug in smartphone mic would do the job just as well and more easily for most users, however the flexibility means you can get your input sound exactly how you want it. Nicely done Roland.
