The Marshall JTM45 is a reproduction of Jim Marshall's first classic amplifier. This is a very popular choice for players that love its clean, sweet singing tones reminiscent of Bluesbreakers-era Clapton.
It features a very basic control panel, with presence, bass, middle and treble controls, plus a volume control for channels one and two.
Channel one is your high treble channel, which, as the name implies, gives you a bright sound with lots of attack. Channel two is the "normal channel", which is actually quite deep sounding. It has long been a tradition to place a jumper lead between both channels and mix the sounds to suit your taste.
Achieving a beautifully organic and vibrant overdrive with this amp, which is its trademark, can only be done in one way: crank it up! The result is pure, majestic tone uncluttered by unnecessary circuitry.
For solos, it produces a round, warm sustain that is full of classic character. With chord work, you get a bark and a percussive attack with natural sounding break up, which allows each note to ring out in a glorious musical crunch.
