There are many uses for semi-hollow electric guitars. They are popular in blues, jazz and rock circles, valued for their warm tone, traditional look and feel.
This variety of hollow-body has a centre block, which gives you the sustain of a solid-body electric, along with hollow wings. The body does have more resonant qualities than a solid-body, which makes this style of guitar work across a variety of musical genres.
The pickups are Ibanez Super 58 models, as also used by the George Benson LG30 model. They are a humbucking pickup with a fair degree of punch, capable of giving you a good round tone.

At last the tone I want with life in the guitarBy: Roger Black on 18 October 2018I have had this for about 6 weeks now. I have changed the strings up to 11-49 to give a better feel for blues and jazz. I find I can play pretty much anything on it. From the round BELL tones of the neck pickup through the combination of the two and the bridge pickup that is raunchy and punchy. As I finger pick the slightly wider neck works very well. I also love the big well spaced machine heads for easy tuning and quick tuning adjustments. It is very comfortable to play and easy to play fast, Django style. I have lots of guitars (az242 also new totally different applications) The fit and finish is superb. This one is a keeper for sure. The more I play it the more I love it.
