Alex has been playing guitar since he was 14, and bass since he was 17 playing metal, rock and alternative music. Working at Kosmic since 2005, Alex has also worked as an Audio Engineer recording music for bands including Claim the Throne, Defect Notice, Will Stocker and The Embers, as well as recording and mixing his original metal band Pyromesh’s album Omnia in 2007 and single Year of the Phoenix in 2006. He has also had experience as a live sound engineer gigging at venues such as Taipan Room, Rocket Room, Leederville HQ, Civic Hotel and White Sands, as well as working as a guitar and bass Tech for artist clinics such as John Petrucci, Steve Vai, Devin Townsend, Billy Sheehan, Yngwie Malmsteen and Stuart Hamm. Alex has played & toured in the original metal band Pyromesh as the lead guitarist, as the guitarist for the cover band King Onion, and as the guest guitarist for local bands such as Defect Notice, Terminal and Prescient. Alex’s guitar career has provided him with a wealth of experience and knowledge, making him the ideal person to assist you with all your guitar needs.
Kerry has almost 25 years of guitar playing experience, beginning playing at the age of 13. She is primarily interested in original indie pop and music influenced by the 90s, as well as singer songwriter acoustic music. From age 15 Kerry has played in bands and is currently playing in a Euro pop and disco influenced band. She has released two solo albums including a ukulele album, as well as an album with The Lunettes and a debut album with Web Rumors. In her career as a guitarist, Kerry has played festivals and supported the likes of Dave Graney and Donny Benet with Web Rumors. She has worked in music retail for 15 years, run workshops and taught guitars in school and privately. Passionate about music, Kerry’s love for songwriting and fostering creativity makes her an invaluable addition to the Kosmic Sound guitar team.
Stevie began having classical guitar lessons from 12 years old, and is primarily interested in alternative rock, pop, hard rock and metal music genres. Working as the Director of S.L.A.M. (Supporting Local Alternative Music), he has also worked as a Booking Agent for Altered State in the 2000s working with events including Big Day Out, Blues and Roots and Moonlight Concerts. He has also worked as a Tour Manager for WA tours for acts including Regurgitator, Dave Graney and Motor Ace among many more, as the Entertainment Manager at Xpress Magazine and at Kosmic Sound for over 13 years. Stevie has played in many original and cover bands including The Antics,The Kaper, The New Antics, and Atmosfear among others. Stevie lists some of his career highlights as being nominated for contribution to the WA Music Industry at the WAMI’s, as well as playing many live venues including five Big Day Out performances supporting major artists including Alice Cooper at the Entertainment Centre, Silverchair, Regurgitator and You Am I. Currently the lead guitarist in Ultra Sound and The Kaper, Stevie has all the knowledge and skills to give you excellent advice and expert information on anything guitar related!
Playing guitar from 14 years old, Cain is interested in rock and pop guitar as well as singing and songwriting. Cain has played in several bands as well as touring and recording with Cartman and The Avenues, currently working as a sideman for other bands. He has been working at music stores and repairing instruments since 2006 and has been working at Kosmic since 2011. Cain is the ideal person to talk to regarding repairs and servicing for your bass or guitar!
Tim has 10 years of guitar experience, beginning playing guitar since the age of 9. Starting his first band at school, Tim has been in several bands since currently playing in Phoneline Valentine and Apostle Haters, as well as a recording project Baby Wizard which has been ongoing since 2016. Tim can help you with finding the right guitar or guitar accessories for your musical needs!
Playing the electric guitar at the age of 9, Rohan also began playing the bass at 13 and the drums at 17 with an interest in Metal, Nu-Metal, Rock, Punk and Alternative music. Playing professionally since the age of 14, he has also worked in music retail sales and as a guitar teacher and drum teacher in Geraldton before beginning working at Kosmic in 2018. Rohan has played in Farewell to Existence and Artefacts in Motion as the guitarist, as well as working with The Sperts, Big Swiftly and The Giant Boogie, The Bulletproof Adding Machine, Chubby and The Checkers, Fanticide and Grenade. Rohan has also done original metal recordings with the lead singer of Emergency Gate during his time living in Germany. Rohan’s knowledge of bass, digital modelling based products, and guitars ensure that he is an ideal person to talk to for advice on these products when you visit Kosmic Sound in store!
